Following training on 26th October 2018, Glen Hills Library are now proud to announce that they are now officially a 'Safe Place'.

A safe place is somewhere you can come if you are feeling distressed, vulnerable or confused. Our volunteers can assist you by providing support or advice to help you. They can also guide you in the right direction to external support services and provide safety if you have been struggling out and about in the community.

Whether it be a cup of tea and a friendly ear or help in contacting family, the library team are on hand to help.

Glen Hills library are also a part of the Message in a Bottle Scheme. This is where you put any information about medication or your medical history into the plastic bottle along with your personal details and this is then stored in the fridge.

In case of an emergency, the emergency services can then access information quickly by retrieving the bottle, containing your information directly from the fridge, in effect saving precious time.

If you would like a bottle, please see a member of the library team.

Digital Services.

There are online resources available for adults and children to enjoy whilst our library is closed and work related courses for people in the workplace, or those planning to join the work force.
