Due to the impact of coronavirus, over 5.5 million people are now claiming universal Credit, many of whom are new to claiming, having been negatively impacted by the pandemic.

The government hope that Universal Credit will help make benefits easier for those claiming them. It comes as one payment with other benefits rolled into the one payment.

Grounds Maintenance Tender for Glen Parva Parish Council.

Glen Parva Parish Council are looking to appoint a contractor to maintain the open space within the Parish.

Two contracts are to be awarded covering both grass cutting & hedge maintenance to playing field standards and maintenance of ecological areas including wooded areas.

Leicester City Council Announce Improvement Works.

Leicester City Council Announce Improvement Works.

Leicester City Council have announced that work is due to begin in March for improvements to the footpath between Everards Meadows and the Great Central Way.

Lasting up to four weeks, work will be carried out to provide more space on the footpath for walkers and cyclists.

The section of the path includes Blue Bank Bridge.

Glen Hills Together have launched a competition for a logo to be designed for the library.

The winning design will be printed onto mugs and bookmarks and a prize of book tokens will be given for the person whose logo is chosen.

Blue Bank Bridge Open.

Blue Bank Bridge Open.

Blue Bank Bridge, Glen Parva is now reopen following resurfacing works.

A final tarmac surface will be laid in the coming weeks.
